Jeg er i New Orleans!

hey guys!
as of now I'm in new orleans, helping Salvation Army in their Disaster Relief work after the hurricane. it's really good, but it's tiring. we serve food from cantines, talk to people, stack boxes, help people with boxes etc. it's really weird to be here after seeing it on the TV, the destructions is massive. a lot of houses that are destroyed and people without any place to live. some people live in hotels with support from FEMA. talked to a guy the other day, jose, he had been living in his house even though he had water up to over his waist. he stacked some chairs and slept there. crazy! pray for him.
when we got to NO-airport, our luggage wasn't there, so we got it the next day. it would have been really packed in the van if we had gotten our luggage though, so. the food here is really good, and the campus is huge with a lot of volunteers from all over the place. the army, southern baptist, americorps etc. good times!
please keep us in your prayers as we are doing important work over here, and pray that God will speak through us either through word or actions.
bruce is doing OK too, he's been sleeping a lot since we got here, in my backpack. he went bungee jumping the other day too.
I really don't know what more to write, but I hope you're all doing good where ever you are in the world. drop me a line if you'd like, that'd be nice. I'll post some pictures at some point, maybe when I get back to norway. I won't really have a whole lot of computer access while I'm here so.
see you guys later and Gud bless as usual!

Hei sveisann in the sky!

hey everybody! (still don't know how many that is though, you guys should start writing more comments. svensan is doing a great job by the way. kred to you!)
this week is the last of the lecture-phase of the school of worship and this weekend us students are doing seminars at a local church, on worship. I'm teaching on leadership and songwriting. that will be a challenge; in English and everything. yay!

and then on monday we leave for New Orleans to help out serving food and other stuff I'm not yet in the position to specify. but it will be an experience to go there and see what the disaster did and what we as servants can give the people down there. we want to show them Jesus through serving and that's what these people need. so we would appreciate your prayers while we're down there. I pray and know that we'll be able to talk to people down there too, and give them another view on Christ than the impression, sometimes, they get from us Christians gives them. wow, that was a heavy sentence. just read it a couple times and you'll probably be able to get it. we just want to be as Christ-like as we can be and that we will be a relief to the workers down there. Salvation Army, which we will be working with, is doing a great job.

and I'm also adding a few pictures. the first few pictures is of what met me when I opened the door to my room after class on wednesday. someone had spiderwebbed us guys from SOW's rooms and put stuff from one room over to another room and vice versa and taking stuff from that room to another room again and...my pink slippers were just sitting out in the hallway! outrageous! we didn't know who it was at first, but now we do and we're trying not to pull something from our butts and get back at them.
the other pictures are from our graduation on wednesday. that third guy in the picture with me and bruce is our school leader, Pete Sifuentes. thought I'd throw that one in there.
well, hope you're all enjoying yourselves.
Gudspeed a lot!

David er ikke den eneste som har vært ute og farta.

No, I've been traveling too. I went to Richmond, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. It was a lot of fun. the vegetation/food wasn't quite what I'd been hoping for, but I got a lot of good pictures out of it. It's kind of funny, isn't it, that I, a moose from Norway, have been several places around the world that some of you guys have never been.
I'm posting a few snapshots to give you a better picture of how my Christmas break has been.
the first picture is from christmas morning, waiting to go down and open presents. I'm watching peter opening one of his.
in the three next pictures I'm at the National Air and Space Museum, I think it's called. can you see me in the third one? David had a hard time finding me. that schmuck!
david thought I would be scared of that lame 'o bear, but it's just stuffed. like one of those stupid animals some people have. those who are stuffed with cotton or something. I'm also posing in front of a statue of a naked dude, with a bow and arrow I think it is. and David for some reason wanted me to jump up and down in front of some art made of out of mirrors outside the National Art Gallery. it was pretty dumb, but it looks kind of cool though.
and there I am in front of the senate...david is a horrible photographer, hence the crappy quality of the picture. I also just had to go to the apple store and check out what's new. that screen is huge, almost makes me look small. I had to send some E-mails to some FE-mail friends of mine. get it? get it? our last night in the DC-area (that's short for Washington DC for those of you who don't travel the world like I do) we went to this Italian restaurant called Olive Garden. I didn't taste the food, but judging by the size of David's belly it looked quite acceptable.
hope you're all having a great time and I'll se you around.
Gud bless as David says.
pis out!

Og litt til...
