Happy May 17! Norway's Day of Independence.
On this very day in the year 1814, we got our constitution. Some businessmen, some wealthy farmers etc. were summoned in Eidsvold where they wrote the constitution in the span of a few weeks. We broke free from Denmark and were under Sweden until 1905. Norway is today an independent country with still, somewhat, the same constitution, founded on God.
I will post some pictures on here for you to see; pictures of friends, family and other Norwegians enjoying this day where we eat ice-cream, watch parades of kids waving their Norwegian flags, barbeque etc.. I'm also posting a couple pictures from Skien. a friend of mine is reading the story about farts.
I hope you're having a great May 17, 'cause I'm pretty sure I will. if the weather allows it, I'll play some croquet...a fun game that stays serious for about 5 minutes. from then on it's just cheating and "no rules".
